Gianluigi Baiardi is a PhD student at IIT and at Scuola Normale Superiore (SNS) in Pisa, Italy.
He's developing his project at the laboratories of the National Enterprise for nanoScience and nanoTechnology (NEST) by SNS, in the research line of 2D Materials Engineering pursued by the Center for Nanotechnology innovation (CNI) of IIT in Pisa.
His research interests include the investigation of the electronic and optical properties of 2D materials, in particular twisted van der Waals heterostructures, and the development of innovative devices for computation and energy conversion.
He obtained his BSc and MSc in Materials Engineering and Nanotechnology from the Polytechnic of Milan, accomplishing a master thesis project on double-epsilon-near-zero titanium oxynitrides thin films for plasmonic applications, produced via pulsed laser deposition.
