Davide Esposito is a Visiting Scientist at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia. He obtained the BSc in bioengineering from the Politecnico di Torino, the MSc in bionics engineering from Università di Pisa and Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, and the PhD in bioengineering and robotics from Università di Genova and Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia. He is currently a member of the Unit for Visually Impaired People (U-VIP), where his main research is carried out.
Davide's research investigated how the brain uses head and trunk movements, internal representations and audiovisual perception to estimate one's heading. To this aim, he developed new assessment and training tools in virtual reality. Also, he investigated how technology, especially mobile devices and AI, can be used to improve the wellbeing of fragile individuals in their day to day life.
Currently, Davide provides support in programming and statistical analyses to the lab. Also, he is co-founder and COO of Sound & Buzz SRL, a spinoff startup of IIT-UVIP bringing on the market the technological solutions developed in the lab.
